- 1913
Kyujiro Sakaguchi establishes a private iron-plate punching plant in Sakaigawa-cho, in Osaka's Nishi Ward.
Begins production of bicycle part materials, washer rings, etc.
- 1949
- Kyujiro’s son Tetsuo Sakaguchi establishes the Osaka Iron & Steel Company, Ltd., capitalized at 500,000 yen.
- 1957
The company changes its name to Sakaguchi Ironworks Co., Ltd.
and shifts from iron-plate manufacturing to hot-forge manufacturing.
- 1969
Capitalization increased to 8 million yen.
Added forging presses and other equipment to become a manufacturer specializing in press forging.
- 1970
- With an Osaka Prefecture R&D grant for automatization, Sakaguchi Ironworks develops its patented “Automatic-feed mechanism employing a transfer beam system” for hot forging presses, thereby becoming a forging automatization pioneer.

Sakaguchi Ironworks moves production from Osaka’s Nishi Ward to its present location in Kashiwara City.
- 1983
- METI’s Small and Medium Enterprise Agency designates Sakaguchi Ironworks as a “small-to-medium-sized enterprise model rationalized factory.”
- 1986
- Sakaguchi Ironworks receives the Small-to-Medium-Sized Enterprise Agency Director General Award for its progress in business rationalization and excellent business achievements.
An 1,800-ton automated hot-forging line is added.
- 1989
Receives Osaka Prefecture’s Quality Control Award.
The company changes its name to SAMTECH Corporation. Construction of the Habikino Plant finishes.
- 1991
- A 2,500-ton hot-forging line and a 630-ton cold-forging line are added to the Habikino Plant, making it a fully automated, three-line facility.
- 1995
- The company’s R&D Center (currently Habikino Plant Building No. 2) is established. SAMTECH develops flowforming process technologies for the production of single-piece and lighter products, allowing it to enter new business areas.

- 1996
SAMTECH International, Inc. is established in Carson, California as a fully owned subsidiary, capitalized at US$4.5 million. Start of development and manufacture of lightweight liners for high-pressure gas vessels, and establishment of a U.S. base of operations.
- 2000
- A new 700-ton, fully automated forging line begins operations.
- 2002
- Addition of a new 3,000-ton, five-process, fully automated hot-forging line at Habikino Plant Building No. 1.
- 2005
- Completed construction of Habikino Plant Building No. 3.
Start of the development and manufacture of high-pressure gas vessels and hub-unit machining.

New 1,600-ton hot-forging line and 1,000- and 250-ton cold-forging lines added.
Two new flowforming machines added.

- Completed construction of Habikino Plant Building No. 4. Addition of 3,000- and 1,600-ton hot-forging lines.
The 1600-ton press is an industry-first, proprietary closed-forging machine.
SAMTECH is awarded top prizes in the “Attractive Manufacturing” and “Innovation Encouragement” categories of the “Takumi by Prosperity” Osaka Frontier Award, a project to honor small- and medium-sized enterprises in Osaka.

Received the 2010 Excellence in Technology Award from JTEKT Corporation for the successful closed-forge mass production of hub-unit outer rings without external burrs, a significant contribution to resource conservation and cost reductions. タイにサムテック（タイランド）株式会社を設⽴。資本⾦1億8千万タイバーツ（約5億円。サムテックの全額出資）事業内容はタイにおける⽇系企業向け熱間鍛造品の製造販売。

- The Die Set Plant (die set repair facility) is completed in the Kashiwabara Habikino Industrial Park.
SAMTECH celebrates the 100th anniversary of its founding.
- 2014
- Start of mass production of high-pressure gas vessels (high-pressure composite accumulators) for hydrogen stations.
- 2015
- Supply of high-pressure composite accumulators to 69 stationary and mobile hydrogen stations throughout Japan.
Chairman Teppei Sakaguchi is awarded a Medal with Yellow Ribbon for his many years contributing to the development and diffusion of forging technologies. He is also designated an Osaka Prefecture Person of Industrial Merit.

- A new high-speed, 3,000-ton hot-forging line is added to the Habikino Plant.
Chairman Teppei Sakaguchi receives a letter of appreciation from the Director of the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs.
Establishment of SAMTECH Mexico in Leon, Mexico to manufacture hub bearings.
